For example every time I use my hair dryer I remember the time one summer day when I was using my hair dryer and my Mother knocked on the bathroom door. I thought she was going to tell me that I needed to hurry up and get out of the bathroom, but instead she was telling me that my grandfather (Gramps) had just died. It still hurts now to write this down and share with you all, but it is something I have to write down. So because of this simple sentence my life was changed, changed because I would never again hear my Gramps sing songs to me or take me for a drive in the truck to get the ice cream he had just called the restaurant for on the phone. The good thing that comes from this story is that I have another memory, the memory that I will see my Gramps again.
I just have a short blog this time because I like short stories! Next blog will be different it may be longer :)
Until next time

Valerie

Well....

Hello! How has everyone been? I am fine. I finally remembered my password for this and decided to write something new, so here it goes.
A lot has happened since the last time I wrote you all, so much in fact I won't tell you everything! But here is a brief summery: I gradutated from the program at Holland College and I am now a cetified ECE (Early Childhood Educator), I also have the first year certificate from Martime Christian College. Each took a lot of strength and endurance (on my part) to complete, they were the hardest three years of my life but because of them I am well educated. Now your probably wondering about what I have done with the rest of my time, when I was not in school. Those days were filled up with going to the beach a few times, eating out, going to the movies, spending money on movies for my collection, making a new friend that I will have for the rest of my life, starting to exercise (a shock to my system and friends!), and just general living of life. So my reader(s) that is all for now, I may be back again soon or I may be back again in a year, who knows!
Until then.
Valerie

Introduction Manners

The following is from my favorite manners book which is: "The Family Book of Manners" by Hermine Hartley and illustrated by Al Hartley.
"Sometimes we will meet someone we haven't seen for a long time. We may not remember them, and they may not remember us. This could be an awkward situation.
When this happens, we just say,

"Hello, I'm Jane Brown. It's nice to see you again." It's best not to say, "Remember me?" If they don't remember us, our question would place them in an embarrassing position.
Good manners are always considerate
                                                                                              They release tension"

So with this in mind: Hello, I am Valerie Osborne. My life consist of going to on the job training(daycare), eating my three meals a day and watching TV, I do nothing more and nothing less (oh besides go to church on Sundays). This fact was confirmed for me when yesterday which was a Friday I could have gone to Hockey but I was stuck in the rut (hence the need for the rubber boots). As I look through my "calander" I see nothing but empty days and that upsets me, I should be doing so much more then complaining on this blog, I should be going places or have a hobby that would keep me busy. But no I have some how slipped into a rut that I can't get out of, so if this blog is not updated it's because I don't want to keep writing "complaining" posts. This blog will be udated when I am almost out of this rut, and have something better to write about.
Until next time,
Valerie

Questions to Ponder

These are just a few of the many questions that run through my head in a run of a day:

Whatever happened to Jonah?

Who invented Jello?

Who invented Toothpaste?

Where does the word "milk" come from?

Did the English language start at the Tower of Babel?

Who actually invented fire? While in the amazon I went to kindergarten (I have one more week to do, so I will be returning on Sunday evening). At the amazon kindergarten I have made many new friends that I will truly miss and surprising enough they will miss me to. When I am done on Friday the 24th it will be the end of a six week time with them, sure all my new friends are aged 5-2 but they don't judge you when you wear your wool skating sweater or when you are hogging the spiderman coloring book (Ahh spiderman how I will miss your coloring book). Here is one last piece of emotional information, I Valerie Osborne am on the road to semi liking.... (I can't believe that I am typing this)...hugs. But please remeber one thing I AM NOT THERE YET, the amazon is getting to my head so I will stop here.
Chow
Valerie

I am currently searching for blog ideas in the amazon, I will be back soon with a new and exciting adventure post from my "life".

My Loop-hole

Well it's official my sister Laura has moved out of the house, she has cracked the code, flown the coop, and has found the loop-hole that has given her freedom. Now to give you an idea of why this is such a big deal:
1. Osborne's are always together
2. I, Valerie am now an only child
3. Laura's not around to make cake
4. Laura's not around to have random verbal battles with
The list my friends could go on and it may at a later date, but the real joy in all of this is Laura has really good cookies at her new apartment that she lets me eat (plus I have milk with those cookies too!). Another point I would like to make is: "Laura how in the world did you find the loop-hole and where can I find one, so I can pull it out of a hat like a magician when I need it?" If anyone would like to share their loop-holes with me, that would be very entertaining, I might even try one, as long it doesn't involve: bungee jumping, living in a tent on Queen Street, joining the Armed Forces (Navy included), getting a full body tattoo with a spike through my nose, and getting married to an Iraqi Prince. Until next time, Good Luck Laura and make sure your cookie jar is always well stocked because I will be coming soon.

Warnings

There are many warnings in our lives these days, for example: "update this blog or else", "don't put your finger in the light socket", "you are driving too fast, the cops will pull you over if you continue at your current speed of 71 in a 70 zone" (that's my personal favorite). Those warnings are all well and good, but they deal with our physical life on earth. Usually these warnings from the list above are given by a Mom or a Dad. As Christians we receive warnings from our heavenly Father, and these cannot be laughed off as easily as the light socket warning. The main warning that comes to my mind time and time again, is the warning of what will happen to the one's that we don't share our good news with: "that God does love you". That bit of news is just a small part of the story that needs to be told but that is how we should start the story, because there are people out there that believe the opposite. They think that because of what they have done God could never love them, so we need to tell them right from the start that God does love, and even though it was a long time ago that God's son was on the earth he still sent his son to show God's love to everyone.

Coming Soon

Coming to a computer near you! September is not my favorite because of one word "school." Ahh!! School, the building where my worst nightmares have come true! I will spare you the details of my nightmares because they are not really all that scary. Well ok here is an example of a worst nightmare: Teacher brings in the TV for us to watch a movie and I start thinking "Hot Dog we are going to watch a great movie!" but no it is not the lastest blockbuster movie, but something called a "educational video." AHHHHH! NOOOO! ANYTHING But That! Let me give you a break down of the movie/video world: a movie is at least two hours long and will take up most of the school day to watch, and a video is at the most twenty-five minutes and it is usually about how most of our ancestors have wrecked the lives of many people to gain beaver pelts and a train track. In my life now is not the historical video but the early educator video. Yesterday I saw the beloved television and suddenly my heart skipped a beat and I had a tight feeling in my chest. I dared to dream that we were going to watch a movie but sadly we did not. Instead we watched a video about a school in Italy and how children learn in a certain community. The high point in the video was when a child, overcome with excitement, picked up a chair and started to wave it around in the air. (Wow those Italians know how to have a good time!)
Soon September will be over and October will begin and with it candy will come! So until next time, chow (learned that word from the video)
Valerie

The Biking Bug

This morning I woke up to the sound of my mother asking where my old bike helmet was because she and my father were going for a bike ride (the picture is my father, mother's picture will come at a later time.) Now you must all be wondering where they got the idea from, I place all blame on a group of certain people who go to my church. Now I know what you are thinking: it's good exercise, they can spend time together, blah blah blah is what I hear! I don't mind the fact that they are biking the real problem is that I was rudely awakened on a Saturday morning to be asked where my old bike helmet is, oh well I had to wake up sometime today it might as well be in the morning! Yes my friends you have just found out a fun fact about Valerie she IS NOT a morning person, sure I got up at 6:30am at camp but that was because I didn't want to deal with other people when I was trying to get clean. I think that is enough about biking and showers for one day so until next time, chow.

Thoughts of an Emotional Valerie

Today is the last day for VBS and in a way I am sad to see it end, my favorite part of it is seeing everyone from the church working together to teach the kids about God's love, and the snacks are pretty good too! On Sunday I am heading back to camp to be a counselor again but this time to high school age and there will 60+ people, I am hoping that it will be a good time and not to stressful, large crowds bring out the extra quiet in me (which some people say may be a good thing!). But when quiet Valerie comes out you can usually find her in corner somewhere, so this week I have to make sure that quiet me doesn't come around to much. Whoo that's depressing here something better to read about! Here's a joke for you: why did the chicken cross the road? to get to the other side! HAHAHAHA I love that joke! I won't be posting again for a week so here is some advice for you until next time: Go outside and enjoy the last days before school and.... I can't believe I'm going to say this but hug your family and Friends ( I think VBS got to my head!)

I like taking Pictures

Hi I'm back from camp and almost rested up from my days at camp, this camp was a shorter one because it was the first timers camp. I have now seen the Naria movie a total of five times next week will be my sixth time seeing it (Whoopie), the movie really is quite good but after a while the movie does get redundant (wow that's a big word!). The week my friends begins another year of VBS, oh the joy the excitement I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it (please note the sarcasm in that sentence), this year is going to be extra exciting because there are more than one theme going for the week there is going to be: a jungle theme, castle theme and one more I can't think of right know. Luckly I am just a helper which means I eat all the cookies drink all the juice and generally start fights between the kids and other teachers and maybe if I'm real lucky get to eat all the icecream at the last day "party". By know your most likely wondering what the title of this blog has to do with anything I have so far talked about, well my peeps (I'm trying to have some street cred) wonder no more! I have a favorite hobby it is photography from now on I am going to try to have a picture with my post, they may not have anything to do with my post or they may but today they are going to be completely random! That's all for today so See ya later Allagator.

Today my reader(s) is Sunday the day of rest for many people and today sadly it is not me. I was in the car today coming home from a exciting birthday party of a member of my church, This member is older than I as was most of the guests except for a select few people (you know who you are!). Anywho back to my thought which was: "self, you should write a new blog" I thought this thought because on Tuesday I will be returning to my job of camp counselor at Canoe Cove Christian Camp, the camp starts on Wednesday but I have to be early so I can be all ready and in the camping mode for the first time campers. But do not worry because I will be back because I can't live at the camp always, I think they kick people out at the end of the camping season. At camp I am the nurse which is ok so far, no one has broken any bones and there has been no large amounts of blood leaving a wound which is on a camper. If there had been cases of large loss of blood I would need my own nurse because I get whoozy at the sight of blood, mine or anyone eleses. Being camp nurse has kept me busy and being at home for a week has been....in a word....boring. I'm sorry Mom but going to Peake's Quay and looking at arts and crafts is not really my cup of tea, although I ocasionaly enjoy a cup of tea. My idea of a cup of tea is going to a movie and Dairy Queen all in one evening WOOT, also my cup of tea is having a
root-beer float and a Teen Burger from A&W WOOT WOOT! But my ultimate cup of tea is going to some out of the way place with friends and eating you guessed it ICE CREAM!! well my reader(s) how does that(this blog) fill your boots? So...Good Evening, Chow, See Ya Later Alligator, Talk to you Later. How ever you say it until next time
Valerie

Hello again my fellow reader, how are you today? I'm feeling fine! Today was a very relaxing day for me I had a picnic with my mom and sister and we took a drive to Orwell Corner, because we are a frugal family we just looked over the fence into Orwell Corner to see some of the wildlife (no I don't mean the tourists). Right now the sun is settting and the temperature is finaly cooling off, I want to go out and enjoy it but the bugs would eat me alive and also carry me off into the wild blue yonder, so I think I will stay inside and watch some TV. I will talk to you again later when I have more time and something better to say. For a while I have distanced my self from the rubber boots, you know the stage I mean the stage when you are a young teen some people call it adolescence I like to call it adoannoying because at that stage you don't like anything and it's always rainning. But any way I left my boot on a shelf and didn't touch them again until this very year June 30 to be exact, and when I put them on SURPRISE they didn't fit I was sad, upset, and dissapointed. I felt all these things because these boots were some what special to me, then I had a light bulb moment! I had my own money! Canadian Tire was having a sale! So I did what any other self-respecting 20 year old person who lives at home could do, I got a drive into town. So here I was at Canadian Tire the meca of all things rubber and cool, the closer I got to the aisle I could smell the rubber, I could hear the angels singing then I saw them the Rubber Boots I found my size and tried them on. Oh the feeling of joy and coming home from a long trip was running through me, I had found my boots. I carried them carefully to the cash took out my Canadian Tire money and then my real money and paid for the rubber boots. My new boots and I are making lots of new memories at Canoe Cove Christian Camp so I may not have as much time to update this very often but I will try. So for the next while when I am not out with my boots I will be telling all of you about the good time I am having with my boots.
